Electronic Engineering continues to be a buoyant branch of the industry, as indicated by the current demand for graduates. These courses are designed to train students for careers in a wide range of industries, as well as in government and commercial organizations. These typically embrace power electronics, information technology, electronic hardware and software, automation, robotics and control, communications, radio and television, computer engineering, solid – state devices, microelectronics and VLSI.
The courses help prepare students for careers as professional engineers through education in fundamental principles presented in the context of real application and design experience. The course develops the fundamental principles of computing and electronic engineering leading to award of a degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering.
Liaison with industry, major research establishments, and learned societies ensures that courses continue to meet the changing needs of the profession. Project work throughout the course underpins the necessity for the required combination of practical and theoretical skills and abilities.
The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in the year 2005. The department admires technology development through innovation and its exploitation for the benefit of human kinds. The ECE department at UIET is running B. Tech and M. Tech programs. The department has more than 300 undergraduate and graduate students. It is equipped with the latest experimental and computational facilities for taking Research & Development and consultancy activities.
Various workshops on latest electronic design automation tools like Multisim, Orcad, Xillinix, Lab view, pSpice, Matlab and advances in DSP are held to make students proficient in electronic design.
Besides, the department is equipped with advanced electronic components and under the active guidance of faculty members, the students have been actively engaged in the development of various micro-controller, embedded system based electronic projects. The department is actively engaged in research work in the field of Micro- Electronics, Antenna design & fabrications, VLSI Design, Neuro Fuzzy, Mobile & Ad-hoc network etc.
